Hey there Stacey ... great to catch up with you mate. I had an awesome night. Great to see NGS get such a good reaction too ... London can be a tough place for support bands. And yes it really was a case of Nottingham taking over the place for the night ... there were loads of types from up here ...
Keep an eye out for New Gen tho ...

Fantastic gig, it was amazing to see so many people that remembered Vain. I still find it funny that 15 years ago most of us (the guys that is) were skinny with long dyed black hair. Now many of us are thinning out and sporting the beginings of middle aged spread....
I've known Graham from NGS for more years than I care to remember, this being the first time I have seen them live and I have to agree they rocked!
Anyway I had a great time - got my t-shirt signed and got well and truely pissed - job well done

I'm slowly working round the rest of the bands I never got to see at Nottm and that my parents wouldn't let me se when younger. Got some great pix of Vain after the show too
Known Graham from NGS for too long, Ian the roadie even longer.........I miss not living in Nottm anymore! I thought I recognised some people from Rock City...

Well, great for using my little mobile phone outside whilst my other half had claimed a backstage pass I got a couple of nice ones but slightly tainted with the other half being in them (and not so sober!!!) We got the train back and my feet were killing me so we didn't go to the Fox with the others.

Seems to me then that New Gen made a real impact down in London. That is a very cool thing - not only can London be a terrible place for support bands to crack, it is awesome to see a Nottingham band actually making something of themselves. It seems to be way way too long since anything of quality appeared from this neck of the woods - tho at the moment we are spoiled as Teenage Casket Co. are doing real well now too (and even managed to snatch supports to Vain in Bradford and Dudley). All good.

Vain at the Meanfiddler were great..it was the fifth show I attended coming all the way from Australia for the gigs. They played Ready as a 2nd encore too which they only did at Bradford previously. Pity the show wasn't taped for dvd as was originally planned but apparently the people who run the joint are jerks and wanted a shitload of cash. Anyway all the guys in Vain are the nicest dudes and party hard but not quite as hard as my new UK pals or me!!!!!
The aftershow party was good too but i had to leave early as I was catching my 26 hour plane trip home the next day - damn!
VAIN rock and they made a hell of alot of new fans on tehir UK jaunt thats for sure!
BTW Mark wheres my laminate!??!?!??!?!?!??!?!??!?!
